On a daily basis, our company manages over 1,900 flights, handles more than 8,500 tons of cargo, arranges over 16,000 hotel accommodations, and serves over 320,000 meals.
Key Responsibilities:
Directing the arrival and departure of aircraft at the gate
Handling, loading, unloading, and transporting passenger luggage and cargo to/from aircraft, baggage carts, dollies, and conveyor systems
Operating ground support equipment, including tow tractors, tow bars, belt loaders, container loaders, baggage tugs, and more.
Effectively communicating with ground staff and flight crews
Understanding and complying with all relevant federal, state, airport, and company regulations, policies, and procedures
Collaborating with other departments to guarantee timely flight operations
Performing additional tasks as assigned
Must possess the physical capability to perform essential job functions, including but not limited to standing, lifting, bending, stooping, walking, crawling, pushing, and pulling for extended periods
Regularly push, pull, lift, and load up to 70 pounds (32 kg)
Ascend/descend jet-way stairs while carrying baggage
Ability to read and interpret aircraft load sheets, checked baggage tags, and cargo labels
Ability to comprehend and respond to verbal and visual commands and safety alerts, with or without visual aids
Work outdoors in various weather conditions and around jet and machinery noise
Qualifications:
Minimum of 1 year of experience in ramp/ground service supervision required
Must possess and maintain a valid state driver's license and any required FAA/Airport identification/seals or authorizations
Ability to pass SIDA airport and training assessments
High school diploma or GED equivalent required
Basic computer skills are necessary.
