Job Description

Job Title: Retail Sales Associate

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Retail Sales Associate to join our team at Rockler Woodworking. As a Retail Sales Associate, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, maintaining a clean and organized sales floor, and assisting customers with their woodworking needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Customer Service: Greet and engage with customers, assess their needs, and provide solutions to their problems.
  • Product Knowledge: Develop a working knowledge of woodworking tools and equipment, and be able to answer customer questions and provide recommendations.
  • Sales Floor Maintenance: Maintain a clean and organized sales floor, including facing, dusting, and general housekeeping.
  • Cash Handling: Work with cash registers and process payments.
  • Product Recommendations: Recommend products to customers based on their needs and preferences.

Key Holder Responsibilities:

  • Store Operations: Open and close the store as directed by the store manager, and perform other management tasks as assigned.
  • Cash Handling: Work with cash registers and process payments.
  • Customer Service: Handle customer refunds and overrides, and provide excellent customer service.
  • Inventory Management: Assist with unloading trucks, pricing, and merchandising products.

Requirements:

  • Customer Service Skills: Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to work with customers in a fast-paced environment.
  • Woodworking Knowledge: Enjoyment of helping people learn and grow in the woodworking hobby or business, and a working knowledge of woodworking tools and equipment.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication and listening skills, with the ability to work effectively with customers and colleagues.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to stand for long periods of time, and safely participate in team lifting.
  • Schedule: Flexibility to work a 5-day retail schedule, including weekends and holidays.
