Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Risk Engineering Consultant to support our Middle Markets team in Property and Casualty risk assessments. This role involves travel within the region and collaboration with underwriting teams to provide consultative services that enhance customer operations and reduce risks. Ideal candidates possess a strong background in risk management and engineering, holding relevant qualifications that empower them to address significant loss exposures effectively.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform field engineering risk assessments and risk improvement services for prospect accounts and bound accounts, often requiring travel but primarily within the region.
  • Provide engineering support to underwriting teams and attend client/broker meetings as needed.
  • Manage account risk portfolio and provide account level engineering to meet underwriting requirements.
  • Offer advanced property and casualty consultative services to customers, identify exposures with significant loss potential, investigate cause/effect of major losses, and review/assess property/casualty management program effectiveness.
  • Develop and implement customer service strategies that reduce losses and improve customer operations.
  • Monitor property and casualty account engineering services to ensure proper delivery, timeliness, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Assist in marketing Zurich resilience solutions and risk transfer insurance products in conjunction with underwriting professionals and agents across company business segments.
Requirements

The successful candidate will hold a Bachelor's Degree and 3+ years of experience in Risk Management and Property & Casualty Safety, or equivalent qualifications. Relevant certifications like Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Associate in Risk Management (ARM), or Certified Fire Protection Specialist (CFPS) are highly valued. Experience working with Microsoft Office and in a team environment is essential.

Preferred Qualifications

We prefer candidates with a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Fire Science, Health and Safety, or related fields. Industry experience in manufacturing, health science, technology, or similar sectors is desirable. Account oversight experience as a Loss Control/Risk Engineering consultant with middle market or large customers' property and casualty lines of business and programs is beneficial. Strong communication, results-oriented consultative skills, and collaboration skills are essential for this role.
