WI - RN - IMC Surgical Trauma Unit Nurse

As a skilled and compassionate RN, you will provide high-quality care to patients in the Surgical Trauma Unit at HexaQuEST Health, Inc. This 26-bed unit is comprised of a 12-bed intermediate care unit (IMC) for trauma and surgical patients and a 14-bed general care unit.
The Trauma and Surgical Intermediate Care Unit provides comprehensive multidisciplinary care to patients who have sustained multi-system trauma as well as high acuity surgical patients.
Key responsibilities include chest tube management, tracheostomy management, complex wound care, orthopedic stabilization, medication and blood product administration, rehabilitation preparation, mechanical ventilation, central venous pressure and arterial line monitoring, and moderate sedation.
The ideal candidate will have experience in an Academic Level - Trauma center or similar size hospital and have completed two years of acute care experience within the last three years.

Facility Requirement:
Traveler must have a permanent address outside of 50 miles from Madison and must include their address in their profile.
Experience:
IMC and recent acute medical or surgical experience is required. If ICU experience, the candidate must be willing to care for IMC and general care patient populations.
Licensure and Certification:
Traveler must have a WI nursing license or compact license from their permanent address state. BLS & ACLS certification through the American Heart Association is also required.
Additional Requirements:
Traveler must have basic arrhythmia experience and be willing to pass the UW Health Telemetry test prior to starting. Floating is also a requirement, as travelers may be assigned to multiple units based on staffing needs.
