Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced IR Education Program Coordinator to join our team at the University of Virginia. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and managing the student clinical rotations, ensuring compliance with program clinical standards, and providing formal didactic instruction as required.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and manage student clinical rotations, ensuring compliance with program clinical standards.
  • Prepare and maintain academic and clinical curricula, policies, and procedures in accordance with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist guidelines.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive program to ensure student success, including academic and clinical evaluations, and provide feedback to students and instructors.
  • Collaborate with the IR Program Medical Director and other stakeholders to ensure program effectiveness and compliance with accreditation standards.
  • Provide procedural support for a variety of patient procedures, including imaging and radiology services.
  • Operate imaging equipment and perform scrub, circulating, and image processing duties as required.
  • Monitor and maintain patient satisfaction, minimizing wait times and ensuring effective communication to patients and families.
Requirements
  • AA in Radiography or equivalent.
  • Five years of experience in a progressive IR department.
  • ARRT - RT and VI or CV licensure.
Physical Demands

The job requires standing for prolonged periods, frequent bending/stooping, reaching (overhead, extensive, and repetitive), and repetitive motion: computer keyboard. Proficient communicative, auditory, and visual skills are required, as well as attention to detail and ability to write legibly. Ability to lift/push/pull lbs. May be exposed to noise, radiation, radioactive materials, blood/body fluids, and infectious disease.
