Product Engineer Job Description

At Great Plains Manufacturing Incorporated, we are seeking a highly skilled Product Engineer to join our team. As a Product Engineer, you will play a key role in developing innovative agricultural equipment that meets the needs of our customers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop harvesting and hay tool equipment in collaboration with the European R&D team.
  • Manage all aspects of design projects, including concept development, prototyping, testing, and design for manufacturability.
  • Provide technical support to manufacturing to ensure that products are fabricated, welded, and assembled according to design specifications.
  • Utilize analysis software to evaluate field testing and recommend design modifications to optimize product designs and features.
  • Present design concepts, features, opportunities, and challenges to the management team.
  • Create detailed drawings, bill of materials, test plans, and other necessary documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with Great Plains and OSHA safety regulations and wear prescribed safety and protective equipment.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Agricultural Engineering, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficiency in 3D/2D CAD and FEA software, as well as Microsoft Office.
  • Good understanding of hydraulic systems and knowledge of farming practices and equipment.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment within a diverse international group.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required.
