Key Responsibilities- Pre-Procedure Preparation: Determine, prepare, and set up medical supplies and equipment for diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures.
- Patient Support: Explain procedures to patients, allay their fear, and elicit cooperation.
- Procedure Assistance: Assist physician and nursing personnel during diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures, including handling instruments and equipment, calling out equipment readings, and handling specimens while maintaining infection control standards.
- Equipment Maintenance: Manually clean endoscopes and perform high-level disinfection to ensure optimal equipment functionality.
- Supply Management: Distribute supplies as needed and maintain inventory of supplies.
- Logistical Support: Assist nurse with transporting patients to and from the procedure room and recovery area.
- Environmental Maintenance: Clean and dress stretchers, procedure rooms, including procedural tables, countertops, floor mats, and wall suction systems.
- Education and Certification: Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program or successful completion of the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) certification exam.
The schedule for this position is day shifts, Monday-Friday, with no weekends or holidays. Some roles within our organization may encompass essential job functions requiring distinct physical and/or mental capabilities.
