Fiberglass Boat Builder Job Description

Factory Direct Marine & RV is seeking a skilled Fiberglass Boat Builder to join our team in Americus, GA. As a Fiberglass Boat Builder, you will be responsible for laminating layers of fiberglass on molds to form boat decks and hulls.

Key Responsibilities:

• Laminates layers of fiberglass on molds to form boat decks and hulls.
• Selects precut fiberglass mat, cloth, and wood bracing materials, according to model number of boat.
• Trims excess material from mold.
• Bonds wood reinforcing strips to deck and cabin structures, using resin-saturated fiberglass.
• Cuts hardened fiberglass from mold with trimming knife.
• May specialize in molding part of boat and be designed Deck Molder; May install stringers and flooring in hull.
• May apply wax to surface of mold to facilitate assembly and removal of laminated parts.
• Checks all dies, templates, and cutout patterns to be used in the manufacturing process to ensure that they conform to dimensional data, photographs, blue prints, samples, and/or customer specifications.
