We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Insurance Verification Representative to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that proper insurance authorizations are processed prior to patients' appointments, ensuring a smooth and efficient visit for the patients.
Key Responsibilities- Verify insurance information with insurance companies and patients.
- Obtain authorization for HMO patients.
- Verify claims are mailed to the proper address.
- Communicate with physicians, insurance companies, and/or necessary departments to obtain authorizations or referrals.
- Respond to customer inquiries regarding insurance coverage for services and processing of claims.
- Adhere to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguard University assets.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 1 year of relevant work experience.
- Ability to maintain effective interpersonal relationships.
- Skill in completing assignments accurately and with attention to detail.
- Ability to process and handle confidential information with discretion.
- Ability to work independently and/or in a collaborative environment.
- Proficiency in computer software (i.e. Microsoft Office).
