Job Summary

The Director of Human Resources at Heartland Community Health Clinic is responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating employee relations and human resources policies, programs, and practices. This role requires a strong understanding of federal and state laws and regulations, as well as performance and outcome objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Policy Development: Prepare, update, and recommend human resource policies and procedures for approval by the Board of Directors.
  • Communication: Communicate changes in agency personnel policies and procedures and ensure proper compliance is followed.
  • Salary Administration: Prepare, update, and recommend a salary scale for approval by the Board of Directors and align all benchmark information.
  • Compliance: Maintain responsibility for agency compliance with federal and state legislation pertaining to all personnel matters.
  • Benefits Administration: Direct the processing of benefit claims; obtain and evaluate benefit contract bids; award Board-approved benefit contracts; design and conduct educational programs on benefits programs.
  • Recruitment and Hiring: Oversee the recruitment, hiring, and orientation process.
  • Employee Relations: Ensure planning, monitoring, and appraisal of employee performance by training supervisors to coach and discipline employees; scheduling management conferences with employees; hearing and resolving employee grievances; counseling employees and supervisors.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain historical human resources records in a filing and retrieval system with past and current records.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field required.
  • Experience: Five to seven years of experience in human resources required.
  • Skills: Ability to establish and maintain effective employee relationships; excellent interpersonal and written communication skills; ability to remain objective and exercise good judgment; strong organizational skills.
Salary and Benefits

$85,000-$100,000 Annually
