We are seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our team as a High School Alternative Teacher at St. Francis Indian School, also known as Sicangu Oyate Ho Inc., located in St. Francis, SD.

About the Role:

As an Alternative Teacher Credit Rec, you will work with high school students who may be at risk of not graduating on time due to various obstacles they face in their academic journeys. Your primary responsibility will be to provide instruction, support, and guidance to help these students earn the credits they need to graduate and succeed in the future.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement individualized education plans for students
  • Deliver engaging and interactive lessons to promote student learning
  • Assess student progress and adjust instructional strategies as needed to ensure student success
  • Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and community members to support student achievement
  • Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that fosters student growth and development
Qualifications:
  • A valid teaching license or willingness to obtain one
  • Experience working with at-risk youth and developing strategies to support their academic success
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with students, parents, and community members
  • A passion for helping students overcome challenges and achieve their goals
  • Familiarity with alternative education programs and credit recovery initiatives
