Job Summary

Kaiser Permanente is seeking a skilled Ultrasound Technologist to join our team in Clackamas, Oregon. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic procedures, supervising Sonographer Students, and providing exceptional patient care.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Performing diagnostic procedures, using knowledge, skills, and abilities required for the age of the patient served, including routine, emergent, portable, and surgical examinations in accordance with department policies and procedures.
  • Communicating effectively with Radiologists and Students.
  • Assisting patients and transporting them as needed.
  • Restocking supplies and cleaning equipment.
  • Participating in quality assurance functions.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.
Variable Responsibilities
  • Participating in on-call or standby schedules as required.
Basic Qualifications
  • Experience: Minimum three (3) years of work experience in modality, with experience no more than three (3) years from the date of application.
  • Education: Graduate of a CAAHEP-accredited Ultrasonographer Program at time of hire or two (2) years of previous Ultrasound experience.
  • License, Certification, Registration: Sonography Technologist License (Oregon), Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Certificate - Abdomen from American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers, and Basic Life Support within one month of hire.
Additional Requirements
  • Demonstrating proficiency in clinical instructions and student assessment through experience or coursework pertinent to the profession.
  • Qualified in appropriate education methodologies through classroom and clinical experience.
  • Daily use of diagnostic equipment, Imaging, and health care computer systems.
  • Demonstrating customer-focused service skills.
  • Ability to use and apply excellent communication and interpersonal skills with all personnel.
  • Proficient knowledge of Ultrasound equipment and exams.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Vascular Ultrasonographer experience preferred.
  • Organizational skills, time management, prioritization, planning, attention to detail, problem-solving, decision-making, judgment, technical skills, initiative, communication, interpersonal skills, customer relations, organizational, and flexibility.
