Body Shop Technician Job Description

At Kansas City Peterbilt, we are seeking a skilled Body Shop Technician to join our team. As a Body Shop Technician, you will be responsible for performing all aspects of body repair for heavy and medium-duty trucks.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform major and minor body repairs
  • Perform fiberglass repairs
  • Perform aluminum body panel repairs and replacement
  • Perform steel and aluminum welding
  • Perform accurate and complete vehicle inspections (DOT, PM, Quality Control)
  • Perform ABS diagnostics and repairs
  • Perform HVAC diagnostics and repairs
  • Perform electrical systems diagnostics and repairs
  • Perform air brake diagnostics and repairs
  • Perform wheel end repairs and adjustments
  • Perform suspension and steering diagnostics and repairs
  • Perform PM maintenance accurately and efficiently
  • Responsible to adhere to all warranty policies and procedures
  • Ability to use electronic technical manuals and resources for diagnose and repair
  • Provide accurate documentation on repair orders
Requirements:
  • Heavy lifting required
  • CDL preferred
  • 3 years or more of Body Shop / Collision Repair / Mechanic experience (preferred)
  • Strong communication skills
  • Promotes and maintains a positive, team-oriented, and customer-focused attitude within department
  • Must be able to demonstrate positive resourcefulness & versatility in a fast-paced, always changing, environment
  • Must be willing to listen and follow directions/advisement from leadership team
  • Understands the importance of safety in the work environment
