Job Summary:

Ish Dining Services is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Dietary Manager/Food Service Director to oversee the daily operations of our kitchen. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for planning, organizing, and directing the overall operations of the Dining Services department in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspect the Dietary Department daily to ensure a safe and sanitary environment.
  • Conduct weekly inspections of storage areas to ensure proper temperatures, cleanliness, and order.
  • Submit written reports to the administration as necessary.
  • Plan and prepare nutritionally balanced and therapeutic meals that meet the dietary needs of our residents.
  • Oversee food purchase, production, and timely service of meals.
  • Direct and supervise all dietary functions and personnel.
  • Purchase food products from approved vendors.
  • Maintain accurate cost records and work to meet budget guidelines.
  • Monitor monthly expenditures.
  • Hire, orient, train, counsel, discipline, and terminate dietary employees as needed.
  • Schedule work hours and assignments and review staff work performance.
  • Participate in department head meetings and QAPI meetings.

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of Federal and State rules and regulations regarding nursing home dietary requirements.
  • Graduate of a culinary or nutritional program preferred.
  • Prior food service experience in a long-term care setting, preferred.
  • Prior supervisory experience, preferred.
  • CDM certification required.
  • Ability to maintain regular attendance and follow CMS mandate/guidelines for vaccination.
