Job Title: Associate Chair of Clinical Operations

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Associate Chair of Clinical Operations to join our team at the University of Florida College of Medicine-Jacksonville. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for providing direct leadership and management to clinical faculty, setting productivity and quality goals, and monitoring clinic utilization and schedules.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide strategic leadership and direction to clinical faculty, including setting goals, metrics, and milestones.
  • Monitor and analyze clinic utilization, schedules, and services to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop and implement plans to expand clinic services while maintaining cost-effective operations and high-quality patient care.
  • Ensure accurate documentation and billing, and achieve productivity standards in the department.
  • Review and evaluate the performance of medical directors and other key management staff, making recommendations for goal setting and development opportunities.
  • Collaborate with faculty and staff to develop and implement clinical programs that deliver safe, personalized, coordinated, and high-quality patient care.
  • Participate in regular working meetings with counterparts from other departments, centers, and representatives of the College of Medicine, hospitals, and practice plan to set operational priorities and develop solutions.
  • Work with faculty and staff to develop annual and long-term plans for improving healthcare quality, safety, and value.
  • Collaborate with other departments and partner hospitals to ensure clinical care and documentation meet regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and maintain clinical guidelines, pathways, protocols, order sets, and decision support tools to improve patient care and outcomes.
  • Maintain a strong clinical presence and interact directly with physicians, patients, and staff.
  • Analyze costs and opportunities related to programs and associated practice locations.
  • Provide clinical presence in relationships with healthcare systems and providers to secure partnerships and care for more patients.
  • Be responsible for achieving and maintaining mutually developed clinical operations goals and metrics.
  • Illustrate principles and practice of quality improvement, patient safety, process improvement, and cost-effectiveness in regular interdisciplinary, inter-professional clinical care conferences.

Requirements:

  • MD/DO degree and Florida medical licensure.
  • Board certification or eligibility in a relevant specialty.

  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
