Position Summary:
The Structural Engineer will hold EI or EIT Certification and collaborate with the Engineer of Record on various telecommunications projects.

The candidate will leverage their knowledge of wireless equipment (including antennas, fiber optics, and carrier services) alongside their experience in structural analysis and design of towers and mounts for assigned projects.

Key Responsibilities:

Your Role:
- Conduct detailed structural analysis of original, modified, and proposed telecommunication towers, including monopole, guyed, and lattice self-supporting structures.

- Perform thorough structural evaluations of original tower mounts and devise modifications for any failing mounts.

- Review the work of Associate and Design Engineers in generating reports and supporting calculations for review and approval by a licensed professional engineer.

- Execute quality assurance reviews of third-party work as part of Vendor QA and assess performance.

- Analyze insufficient evaluations to minimize modification costs.

- Develop analytical tools and training presentations, and lead training sessions.

- Manage small to moderate-sized projects and contribute as an engineer Subject Matter Expert (SME) on larger projects.

- Identify the causes of overstresses in tower members and devise practical, cost-effective reinforcement or modification strategies.

- Specify reinforcement systems and components to address tower overstresses while meeting customer requirements, producing well-documented calculations.

- Create conceptual sketches for tower and foundation reinforcement/modification for the Structural Detailer to transform into design, fabrication, and erection drawings (CAD).

- Review and approve AutoCAD drawings for tower and foundation reinforcement/modification designs.

- Participate in the development of engineering processes, standards, and tools/programs.

- May serve as Project Engineer and act as a designated client contact on smaller, less complex projects.

- Coordinate efforts with other disciplines such as architectural, mechanical, and electrical engineering.

- Manage routine contract administration.

Qualifications:

What You Will Need:
- A Bachelor's degree in civil or structural engineering.

- EI or EIT Certification is essential; PE or SE in civil structural engineering is preferred.

- 2-5 years of experience in the Wireless/Telecom industry with demonstrated expertise in structural analysis and design of towers and mounts is required.

- Familiarity with AutoCAD and construction design and drawing preparation (structural analysis of towers and mounts) is desired.

- Understanding of antennas, fiber optics, carrier services, and other wireless equipment.

- Knowledge of TNX Tower, Enercalc, PLS Caisson, and Risa 3D Programs is preferred.

- Flexibility in work schedule.

- Capability to work outdoors in various weather conditions, if necessary.

- Excellent communication skills.

- Self-motivated with a strong desire and ability to learn and retain knowledge.

- Ability to work collaboratively in teams as well as independently.

- Strong organizational and administrative skills.

- Willingness to travel within local markets and no travel restrictions within the United States (15% travel, typically less, usually 1-2 day trips).
