Athletic Trainer

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Athletic Trainer to join our team at NYU Langone Ambulatory Care East Meadow. As an Athletic Trainer, you will play a critical role in the prevention, assessment, and treatment of athletic injuries and illnesses.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform initial on-field assessments of acute injuries and illnesses, providing first aid and triage as necessary.
- Monitor and coordinate training, follow-up, and evaluation programs for athletes.
- Assist athletes in implementing home exercise programs as prescribed by physicians or physical therapists.
- Work with school districts to implement and re-evaluate athletic policies, including EAPs, concussion management, and standing orders.
- Provide advice to athletes, parents, and coaching staff on injury prevention, health, and wellness.
- Participate in pre-season parent/coaches meetings and provide educational opportunities to the community.
Perform Biodex testing for concussed individuals referred by physicians and implement 'Return to Play' protocols for patients returning from a concussion.
Requirements:- Bachelor's Degree in Athletic Training from an Accredited Athletic Training Program (CAATE).
- Current and valid NYS Department of Education Athletic Training License.
- Certification through the Athletic Training Board of Certification (BOC).
- CPR and AED Certification.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and effectively manage emergency situations.
- Master's Degree in Athletic Training, Health Science, Exercise Physiology, or related field.
- Concussion Management Certification.
- 1-2 years of experience in interscholastic or intercollegiate sports programs.
