GENERAL SUMMARY
The Gaming Cage Cashier is responsible for executing various tasks to guarantee precise, secure, and efficient management of all cash transactions (including cash, coins, chips, credit card transactions, and check cashing) while adhering to relevant governmental regulations, casino policies, and procedures, including Title 31 Regulations and Minimum Internal Control Standards.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Accurately conducts cash, chip, and ticket transactions for guests and team members in a prompt and efficient manner.
- Handles checks, credit/debit card transactions, promotional vouchers, gift cards, and foreign currency exchanges.
- Issues, replenishes, and receives cash banks from team members, as well as prepares and processes jackpot and promotional payouts.
- Coordinates with Table Games Department for gaming chip fill/credit requests and manages chip transfers with Cage Operations team members.
- Processes credit markers, front money, and safekeeping transactions.
- Balances the cash drawer at the end of each shift and documents any discrepancies (shortages or overages) appropriately.
- Maintains and operates all equipment necessary for daily operations, including currency counters, coin counters, and computers.
- Establishes new player accounts by verifying identification, ensuring no duplicates, accurately entering data into the player club system, setting up PINs, and issuing players' club cards.
- Possesses comprehensive knowledge of the player's club program, including promotions and events, and communicates this information effectively to guests.
- Engages with guests and team members in a courteous and professional manner.
- Adheres to all applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies.
- Addresses issues within expectations and escalates to a supervisor when necessary.
- Maintains hygiene and safety standards, ensuring a clean and hazard-free work environment.
- Participates in all required training sessions and meetings.
- Safeguards company assets and reports any suspicious activities to management.
- May assist with casino promotions and special events as required.
- Performs all related and compatible duties as assigned.

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION

- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- 1 to 3 years of relevant experience and/or training.
- Sales experience is preferred.
- Experience as a cage cashier, bank teller, retail associate, or in a related field is preferred.
- Familiarity with player tracking systems, slot machines, and table games is advantageous.
