Job Overview

The Nurse Case Manager I at Medical University of South Carolina is a clinical expert responsible for coordinating patient care to achieve optimal outcomes and promote timely discharge. This role plays a vital part in the hospital's care continuum, ensuring efficient movement of patients through the system.

Salary and Benefits

The estimated salary for this position is $75,000 per year, with opportunities for overtime and bonuses. Additionally, MUSC offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.

Job Responsibilities

This role requires a Bachelor's degree in Nursing and three years of work experience as a Registered Nurse. Prior leadership experience is preferred, along with one year of case management and/or utilization review work experience. Certification in case management is also beneficial.

Work Environment

The ideal candidate will be able to perform job functions while standing, sitting, and walking. They will also need to climb stairs and work in confined/cramped spaces. The ability to lift and carry 50 lbs unassisted is required, as well as the ability to exert up to 50 lbs of force.
