Job Summary:

The Precision Assembler will be responsible for disassembling, cleaning, inspecting, and reassembling mechanical seals during the repair process. Our shop is a dynamic environment with a steady flow of challenging work and a customer-focused team.

This is a 2nd shift position (Monday - Friday, 4:00 PM - 12:30 AM), with consistent overtime required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize mechanical aptitude to disassemble, clean, and reassemble mechanical seals
  • Operate hand tools, such as wrenches and mallets
  • Read blueprints and drawings accurately to assemble seals
  • Inspect and verify quality of finished work using precision measurement tools
  • Enter data to track process steps, parts, materials, and time
  • Follow all safety procedures and wear required personal safety equipment
  • Communicate clearly with peers and supervisors about jobs and issues
  • Participate in continuous improvement team activities to focus on improvement
  • Perform other duties as required

Requirements:

  • 2-5+ years of general mechanical experience; trade school training acceptable in lieu of experience
  • Able to read blueprints and shop drawings
  • Able to use precision measuring tools, such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges
  • Able to use various hand and machine tools
  • Basic computer aptitude to learn data entry systems and use Microsoft Word and Outlook
  • Good reading and listening skills to understand work instructions, safety procedures, and company policies
  • Able to clearly report and explain information to others
  • A customer-service mindset for on-time delivery and quality workmanship
  • Able to work overtime and weekends as required on short notice
  • Able to stand for long periods of time and frequently lift up to 50 lbs
  • A full range of hand and upper-body motion to work with tools and parts

Preferred Skills/Experience:

  • Previous manufacturing experience
