Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to work with male and female adolescent residents in a residential youth home setting. As a Youth Development Worker, you will provide a nurturing environment, close supervision, and support to help residents achieve their goals and reintegrate into the community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide individualized support and guidance to residents, helping them develop life skills, and achieve their goals.
  • Assist residents with daily living tasks, such as meals, exercise, and hygiene, while promoting healthy living skills.
  • Develop and implement recreational and social activities to enhance skill acquisition and promote positive relationships.
  • Model professionalism and demonstrate respectful communication with residents and team members.
  • Utilize behavior management techniques to de-escalate volatile situations and maintain a safe environment.
  • Collaborate with the treatment team to ensure residents receive necessary support and services.
  • Prepare and submit daily reports detailing resident behavior and interventions.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to complete required certifications and training programs.
  • Knowledge of accepted theories, practices, and interventions for counseling youth and their families.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers, residents, and community partners.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing situations.
Working Conditions

This position involves working in a residential youth home setting, which may include exposure to verbal abuse, communicable diseases, and potentially violent/hostile individuals. The incumbent must be able to lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds and work extended, weekend, and/or evening hours as needed.
