The Behavioral Intervention Specialist at Asteri Behavioral Treatment Center plays a vital role in executing Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) strategies and delivering personalized one-on-one therapy to individuals with autism and other developmental challenges. This position is essential for helping clients develop new skills, minimize disruptive behaviors, and encourage positive behavioral transformations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Direct ABA Therapy:
    • Conduct individualized ABA therapy sessions in diverse environments, including home, educational, and clinical settings.
    • Apply behavior modification techniques and skill development programs as specified in personalized treatment plans.
  • Data Management:
    • Systematically gather and document behavioral and skill development data during therapy sessions.
    • Assist in evaluating data to track progress and inform necessary adjustments to programs.
  • Skill Development:
    • Instruct and reinforce a variety of skills, encompassing communication, social interaction, academic abilities, self-care, and adaptive skills tailored to individual client objectives.
  • Behavioral Modification:
    • Implement intervention strategies to address challenging behaviors while fostering alternative, more constructive behaviors.
    • Utilize positive behavior support methods to decrease the frequency of problematic behaviors.
  • Prompting Techniques:
    • Employ effective prompting strategies to facilitate skill acquisition and gradually reduce prompts as proficiency increases.
  • Documentation:
    • Maintain organized and precise session notes, progress documentation, and other essential records.
    • Communicate client advancements and challenges to the clinical team and family members.
  • Team Collaboration:
    • Work alongside Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) and other professionals to ensure cohesive and effective treatment plan execution.
    • Participate in team meetings to assess client progress, share strategies, and implement necessary intervention modifications.
  • Family Support:
    • Offer training and guidance to families and caregivers on applying ABA techniques and strategies beyond therapy sessions.
  • Professional Standards:
    • Comply with ethical standards established by relevant organizations, including the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB).
    • Exhibit professionalism while maintaining confidentiality and respect in all interactions.

Qualifications
  • Minimum of a High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred but not mandatory.
  • Experience working with children is preferred but not required.
  • Availability for a minimum of 10 hours per week.
  • Bilingual skills are preferred but not required.
  • Valid Driver's License, Car Insurance, and personal vehicle for transportation.
  • Willingness to travel within a 25-mile radius.
  • Strong Time Management and Data Collection abilities.
  • Excellent Communication and Problem-Solving skills.
