Job Description

Upshift Partners is a holding company that invests in and partners with cash flow-positive businesses for the long term. We focus on incubating new businesses and acquiring controlling stakes in established, cash flow-positive companies that have significant growth potential.

We are active, hands-on investors who leverage our expertise in go-to-market strategies, digital marketing, and sales to drive company growth. We focus on companies with high margins, sustainable growth, a strong brand, a niche market, and have a preference for marketplaces, SaaS, and tech-enabled services.

The Role

We are seeking a candidate with direct experience in deal sourcing and finance, specifically within private equity or similar investment roles. You'll work closely with the founder and partners to assess early-stage companies, optimize growth strategies, and build customer acquisition systems.

This role offers exposure to both the investment process and operational growth initiatives, directly influencing value creation within our portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

  • Source and evaluate investment opportunities in B2B services, SaaS, talent, staffing, and HR tech sectors
  • Conduct thorough market and industry research to inform sourcing strategies and support investment theses
  • Build and analyze financial models for potential investments, acquisitions, and growth planning
  • Lead the due diligence process, including evaluating business models, financial performance, competitive positioning, and scalability
  • Prepare and present investment memos and findings to internal stakeholders for strategic decision-making

Qualifications

We are looking for ambitious candidates with direct experience in deal sourcing and financial analysis, particularly in private equity, venture capital, or a related investment role.   • 2-3 years of experience in private equity or a related investment field, with a strong emphasis on sourcing deals
  • Demonstrated ability to perform comprehensive financial analysis and build financial models
  • Proven experience in conducting due diligence and evaluating investments
  • Strong market research skills and strategic thinking capabilities
  • Ability to excel in a dynamic environment and support a growing investment pipeline
  • Excellent communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving
  • Availability to work US hours, though the role is remote
  • Experience in B2B services, SaaS, talent, or HR tech sectors
  • An entrepreneurial mindset and passion for supporting early-stage companies
