Position Summary:

We are seeking a dependable logistics transport specialist dedicated to ensuring customer satisfaction through the safe and timely delivery of goods. The role involves loading products onto the vehicle and delivering them to clients while following designated routes and schedules. Additionally, this position requires working in the warehouse several days a week to ensure accurate order fulfillment and inventory management. This role is vital to our operations and contributes significantly to the success of W.E.H. Supply, Inc.

Supervisory Duties:

  • None.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safely operate a Class B commercial vehicle for transporting goods to clients.
  • Load and unload products using appropriate equipment and methods.
  • Inspect shipments for quality and accuracy.
  • Ensure timely and accurate deliveries while maintaining high customer satisfaction.
  • Comply with all traffic laws, regulations, and company policies while driving.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle and report any maintenance or safety concerns.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the vehicle and work area.
  • Accurately complete necessary paperwork, including delivery logs and vehicle inspection forms.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, colleagues, and management to facilitate smooth operations.
  • Follow company protocols for handling materials, including securing loads and safely managing hazardous materials.
  • Spend approximately 40% of the workweek (2 days) in the warehouse, depending on business needs.
  • Retrieve orders from designated warehouse locations and prepare them for delivery.
  • Regularly review inventory levels to maintain accurate records.
  • Engage in ongoing training and development to enhance skills and stay updated with industry regulations.
  • Uphold the values of W.E.H. Supply in all activities.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent time management abilities.
  • Capability to thrive in a fast-paced and occasionally stressful environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Physical capability to lift and transport heavy items.
  • Must pass DOT physical and drug screening.
  • Proficient in driving manual transmission vehicles.

Education and Experience:

  • High School diploma or equivalent (GED) preferred.
  • Valid Class B commercial driver's license (CDL) with a clean driving record is mandatory.
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Familiarity with DOT regulations and safe driving practices.
  • Forklift operation experience is a plus.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment:

  • Ability to communicate effectively with team members and clients.
  • Work conditions may include moderate to high noise levels, exposure to mechanical parts, high places, fumes, airborne particles, and outdoor weather conditions.
  • Availability to work on Saturdays as needed.
  • Must be able to work in, around, over, and under fixed equipment and machinery.
  • Ability to lift and move items weighing up to 75 lbs.
  • Capable of spending extended periods driving and making deliveries.
