Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated individual to join our team as a Juvenile Correctional Officer - Halfway House. As a key member of our staff, you will be responsible for providing direct supervision and care for youth in a community-based halfway house facility, ensuring their safety and security, and helping them achieve progress in learning and applying methods to identify and manage reactions to stress and trauma.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct supervision and care for youth in a community-based halfway house facility
  • Ensure the safety and security of youth, staff, and the public
  • Work with youth to help them achieve progress in learning and applying methods to identify and manage reactions to stress and trauma
  • Use appropriate intervention methods in response to behavioral issues
  • Maintain a consistent effort to ensure safe environments and employ security measures when necessary
  • Interact and engage with youth in ways that maintain appropriate structure and exercise understanding of brain development in youth with complex trauma
  • Maintain healthy relationships and boundaries with youth and consistently recognize progress and good choices made by youth
  • Facilitate youth rehabilitation, supervise youth, and coach their personal development in accordance with individualized treatment plans
  • Maintain facility cleanliness, sanitation, and youth hygiene
  • Monitor compliance with applicable policies and procedures
  • Complete required forms and documentation
Requirements
  • Must be at least 21 years of age and have a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Must have a current valid Driver License
  • Preferred: College degree or coursework
  • Applicants with the following will not be considered: Convicted or received deferred adjudication for any felony, Convicted or received deferred adjudication for domestic violence involving a family member, etc.
