Your role and responsibilities

In this position, you will have the chance to establish and carry out routine evaluations for various products following standard testing protocols and requirements. Each day, you will engage in your responsibilities utilizing skills and techniques, along with a practical understanding of concepts applied in the technology sector. You will also demonstrate your proficiency by ensuring accurate documentation of test outcomes. The work model for this role is: onsite. This position contributes to the Electrification Installation Products division in the Hackettstown area. Your primary responsibilities will include:
  • Setting up and operating manual lathes, milling machines, surface grinders, saws, and drill presses, as well as diagnosing, assessing, and recommending repairs for rubber molds.
  • Reviewing work orders, blueprints, specifications, and tooling requirements in preparation for creating new molds or executing repairs on existing molds.
  • Verifying all dimensions, clearances, and tolerances according to specifications and blueprints using various gauges and precision measuring instruments.
  • Setting up, programming, and operating CNC-controlled lathes and milling machines for mold and part fabrication.

Qualifications for the role
  • High school diploma or equivalent and 2+ years of experience in a machine shop environment.
  • Proficient in the fabrication processes and operation of machine shop equipment.
  • CNC Lathe and Milling experience.
  • Welding experience is advantageous.
  • Candidate must possess work authorization that allows them to work for ABB in the United States.
