About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Machinist/Mold Maker Technician to join our team at ABB. As a key member of our Electrification Installation Products division, you will be responsible for setting up and executing routine tests for different products in accordance with standard testing methodologies and requirements.

As a Machinist/Mold Maker Technician, you will have the opportunity to work with a variety of machine shop equipment, including manual lathes and milling machines, surface grinders, saws, and drill presses. You will also be responsible for troubleshooting, evaluating, and making repair recommendations for rubber molds.

Our team is dedicated to delivering high-quality products and services to our customers, and we are looking for a skilled and experienced Machinist/Mold Maker Technician to join our team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Setting up and using manual lathes and milling machines, surface grinders, saws, and drill presses
  • Troubleshooting, evaluating, and making repair recommendations for rubber molds
  • Reviewing work orders, blueprints, specifications, and tooling requirements in preparation for making new molds or performing repairs on existing molds
  • Verifying dimensions, clearances, and tolerances using gauges and precision measuring instruments
  • Setting up, programming, and operating CNC-controlled lathes and milling machines used for mold/part fabrication
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalency and 2+ years of work experience in a machine shop environment
  • Knowledgeable in the fabrication, processes, and operation of machine shop equipment
  • CNC Lathe/Milling experience
  • Welding experience is a plus
