Job Title: Staff Accountant - AR

Accentuate Staffing is seeking a highly skilled Staff Accountant - AR to join our client's Finance Department in Raleigh, NC. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for various accounting duties, primarily in the Accounts Receivable area.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Daily Invoicing: Process daily shipments, including inputting invoices to vendor portals, emailing customers, and maintaining proper backups. Calculate and add freight as needed.
  2. Cash Application: Apply payments made via lockbox, ACH, or wire transfer to outstanding accounts receivable invoices. Collaborate with customers and supplier portals to determine proper cash application. Investigate short/over payments and make necessary adjustments.
  3. Manual Credit Memos and Invoices: Issue manual credit memos and invoices as directed by the Controller. Input credit memo data into the ERP system and link to outstanding invoices as necessary.
  4. Collection Activities: Report on aging customer receivables, contact customers for payments, and establish/maintain customer contact information in the ERP system. Provide customer statements and copies of invoices in a timely manner.
  5. AR Discrepancy Research and Reconciliation: Review original invoices, purchase orders, and sales orders related to payment discrepancies. Coordinate with Customer Service, Repair, and Finance to evaluate the source of discrepancies. Work with the Controller to determine the appropriate course of action.
  6. Software Proficiency: Utilize MS Excel, Word, Access, and the ERP system. Work with customer portals to track invoice status as needed.
  7. Support Account Reconciliation and SOX Processes: Support internal and external audits and reviews.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent
  • 1-3 years of accounting experience, including AR/Collections
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with LN or similar large integrated ERP system
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills - pivot tables, v-lookups, etc.
