Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate individual to join our team as an Autism Para Professional. In this role, you will work closely with our experienced staff to provide individualized support to students with Autism Spectrum Disorder and Developmental Disabilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with classroom staff to implement student programming and collect data on student progress.
  • Transport and accompany students in the community, implementing community-based instruction and promoting social skills.
  • Attend and actively participate in weekly clinical meetings, staff training, and meetings with parents and district representatives.
  • Provide positive and constructive feedback to colleagues and support the development of a positive school culture.
  • Assist with daily living skills, hygiene, and life skills, while promoting dignity and respect for all individuals.
  • Participate in crisis intervention training and respond to student crisis situations as needed.
  • Perform housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and safe school environment.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalency.
  • One year experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities and basic knowledge of Applied Behavior Analysis preferred.
  • Minimum age of 21.
  • Maturity and reliability.
  • Good driving record and valid Colorado Driver's License.

Work Environment

This role operates in a classroom environment, requiring frequent interaction with students and staff. The work environment is dynamic, with opportunities for growth and development. The successful candidate will be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks, and maintain a positive attitude in the face of challenges.

Physical Demands

The physical demands of this role include frequent standing, walking, and lifting up to 150 pounds with assistance. The employee must be able to speak and hear in a loud environment and pass certification for verbal and physical crisis intervention training.
