Overview

UnityPoint Health is seeking LPN new graduates to join our team in various inpatient settings, including inpatient rehab, med/surg, and mental health. As an LPN, you will provide patient-centered care with the support of an RN and other multidisciplinary team members.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with healthcare team members to provide patient care
  • Consult with supervisory RN and other healthcare team members as needed
  • Obtain instruction and supervision when implementing new or unfamiliar nursing practices or techniques
  • Contribute to the admission assessment process by collecting, reporting, and recording objective and subjective data
  • Assist in identifying and supporting a multidisciplinary approach to determine patient care interventions
  • Administer medications and perform tasks within scope of practice
  • Collaborate with patients and families to anticipate safe transitions in care
  • Inform supervisory RN of changes in patient condition in a timely manner
  • Collaborate with RN and other healthcare team members to communicate progress towards agreed-upon goals of care
Qualifications
  • Completed an accredited LPN program
  • Previous CNA/PCT experience preferred
  • Possess current LPN licensure in the State of Iowa or compact state
  • Writes, reads, speaks, and comprehends fluent English
  • Demonstrates proficiency in manual skills and techniques required to perform basic nursing procedures and operate specialized equipment
  • Ability to successfully complete a basic computer course on the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) through in-hospital training
  • Knowledge and understanding of laws governing licensure and function within legal boundaries of discipline
