Role Overview:
Position Summary:
Under general supervision, the Accounting Manager will plan, organize, oversee, and manage the accounting team and operations within the Finance Department. This includes overseeing accounting functions such as accounts payable, payroll, accounts receivable, general ledger reporting, grants management, and fixed asset accounting. The role requires ensuring compliance with governmental accounting standards and providing advanced support to the Finance Director in specialized areas.

Supervision:
The Accounting Manager will receive general direction from the Finance Director and will directly supervise professional, technical, and administrative support staff.

Qualifications:
Required:
- A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a closely related field.
- A minimum of five (5) years of professional accounting experience, including three (3) years in managing general ledger and budget preparation.
- Familiarity with federally funded programs or fund accounting, particularly with grant management experience.

Preferred:
- A Master’s degree in Accounting.
- CPA certification.

Language Proficiency:
Ability to read and write in English to comprehend and interpret written procedures and technical documentation. This includes the capacity to provide and receive instructions in both written and verbal formats and to effectively communicate information and respond to inquiries from various stakeholders.
