Overview of the Role

MedStar Health is seeking a skilled Cardiac Interventional Technologist II to enhance our team. This role involves performing angiographic, therapeutic, and interventional procedures while ensuring comprehensive patient management throughout the process.

Key Responsibilities:
- Administer contrast media into coronary arteries as per the Cardiologist's directives during cardiac catheterization.
- Assess the impact of pathology and vital signs to determine appropriate hand injection pressure.
- Utilize knowledge of normal cardiac physiology and electrocardiographic patterns to identify both minor and severe arrhythmias, ensuring optimal patient care.

- Act as a primary assistant to the physician, independently scrubbing and assisting with the manipulation and placement of guide wires and catheters.

- Schedule and manage patient flow efficiently.
- Maintain adequate inventory of interventional and cardiac supplies, ensuring all patient records and departmental checklists are up to date.
- Collaborate with supervisors on inventory control and accurately input patient and supply data into the hospital's information systems.
- Conduct hemodynamic monitoring and record calculations for cardiovascular procedures, including angiographic and interventional imaging.

- Deliver quality patient care and monitoring during all procedural phases, adhering to physician instructions and established protocols.

- Ensure proficiency in operating all imaging equipment, producing high-quality diagnostic images in line with departmental standards.

Qualifications:
- Completion of an AMA-approved Radiologic Technology program of at least two years.
- Minimum of two years' experience in diagnostic radiology.
- Experience in interventional radiology or cardiac catheterization is preferred.
- Certification or registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT).
- Valid Radiology Technologist license in the State of Maryland.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification or eligibility.
