Job Summary

MedStar Health is seeking a highly skilled Cardiac Interventional Technologist II to join our team of medical imaging professionals. This role involves performing angiographic, therapeutic, and interventional procedures, as well as providing patient management prior to, during, and after the procedure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administers contrast media into the coronary arteries as directed by a cardiologist during a cardiac catheterization procedure, recognizing the effect of pathology and vital signs to determine the amount of pressure of each hand injection.
  • Applies knowledge of the normal physiologic and electrocardiographic sequences of cardiac contraction and recognizes both minor and dangerous arrhythmia, providing appropriate patient care as required.
  • Maintains adequate basic interventional and cardiac supplies, all appropriate patient records, and department check sheets, ordering supplies from outside vendors in the hospital purchasing system.
  • Performs hemodynamic physiologic patient monitoring, recording calculations of cardiovascular procedures, angiographic, therapeutic, and interventional imaging procedures, as well as electrophysiology and ablation procedures.
  • Provides quality patient care and monitoring during all phases of the procedure in accordance with physician instructions and established policy, having knowledge of all equipment, inventory, and location of supplies.
Requirements
  • Satisfactory completion of an AMA-approved school of Radiologic Technology of at least 2 years duration.
  • 2 years' experience in diagnostic radiology.
  • Experience in interventional radiology/cardiac catheterization or equivalent.
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) certification or registration.
Compensation

This position has a hiring range of $71.68.
