We are seeking a highly detail-oriented and flexible Overnight Custodian to join our facilities maintenance team at Humane Society Pikes Peak Region. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and sanitization of our facilities, including offices, meeting rooms, restrooms, and public areas.
Key Responsibilities- Perform routine cleaning tasks based on a schedule created by the facilities management team.
- Use and maintain assigned power equipment and hand tools to clean and maintain floors, walls, glass, carpets, and other surfaces.
- Use cleaning supplies and chemicals following health and safety regulations to maintain a clean and professional environment.
- Perform general cleanup of all building areas as required, using established practices and procedures.
- Maintain breakroom and restroom areas, including restocking supplies and ensuring cleanliness.
- Remove garbage and recycling daily or as directed.
- Ensure rooms and spaces are stocked and maintained.
- Clean carpeted areas according to schedule and spot clean carpets as necessary.
- Maintain, order, and stock supply closets, supplies, and equipment.
- Assist with the setup of facilities for meetings, classrooms, conferences, and events.
- Attend meetings and classes as required.
- Lock and unlock assigned buildings, securing them when facilities are not in use.
- Adhere to HSPPR's safety policies to create a safe work environment.
- Seek out, plan for, and obtain relevant professional development following HSPPR minimum expectations.
- Two or more years of janitorial experience.
- Able to effectively read, write, interpret, communicate, perform basic problem-solving, and perform basic math as commonly expected from completion of a High School Diploma or GED.
- Ability to work well under minimal supervision.
- Capacity to take direction as well as demonstrate initiative.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Strong verbal communication skills.
