Summary:

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented individual to assist with day-to-day operations in our heavy equipment shop. The Heavy Equipment Maintenance Assistant will support the shop by performing various tasks, including manual labor, running errands, and assisting with maintenance and equipment preparation.

Essential Functions:

  1. Assist with general labor tasks such as lifting, moving, and organizing materials and tools.
  2. Assist technicians with preparing and maintaining heavy equipment.
  3. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the shop, including sweeping, trash disposal, and cleaning equipment.
  4. Deliver and pick up parts and materials from vendors or job sites, ensuring timely delivery.
  5. Ensure that all tools and equipment are properly stored and maintained.
  6. Follow shop safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  7. Perform other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills:

  1. High school diploma or equivalent.
  2. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  3. Ability to follow instructions and work in a shop environment.
  4. Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety procedures.

Work Environment:

  1. Shop environment with exposure to heavy equipment and machinery.
  2. Physical labor required, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
  3. Occasional overtime may be required based on shop demands.

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
