We are seeking a highly qualified Tenure-Track Assistant Professor for Political Science to join our dynamic department at the University of Alabama. The successful candidate will be an expert in the politics of groups and identities in American politics or public policy and/or public administration through the lens of group differences.
Key Responsibilities- Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in political science, including courses on American politics, public policy, and research methods.
- Conduct research and publish scholarly articles in top-tier journals.
- Develop and maintain a strong research program, including securing external funding and collaborating with colleagues across the university.
- Advise and mentor undergraduate and graduate students, including serving on thesis and dissertation committees.
- Participate in departmental and university service, including committee work and outreach activities.
- Ph.D. in Political Science or a related field at the time of appointment.
- Expertise in the politics of groups and identities in American politics or public policy and/or public administration through the lens of group differences.
- Strong research and teaching record, including a demonstrated ability to secure external funding and publish scholarly articles.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work effectively with students, colleagues, and external partners.
