Job Overview

As a Route Sales Representative, you will play a critical role in developing strong customer relationships through direct contact on a daily basis while delivering hard goods and gas cylinders. This physically demanding and time-sensitive position requires consistently exceptional customer service to earn customers' trust.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Safely load, deliver, and unload hard goods and cylinders containing compressed gases to customers, and retrieve empty cylinders by truck on a scheduled route.
  • Maintain accurate load manifests and all other vehicle documents.
  • Identify and monitor customers' needs to maintain their desired hard good and cylinder levels, minimizing emergency deliveries.
  • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and warehouse equipment efficiently.
  • Comply with safety rules and regulations from DOT and OSHA.
  • Hold the appropriate drivers' license and endorsements.
  • Ensure your truck remains safe and clean both inside and outside.
  • Perform counter sales and assist customers as needed.
  • Contribute to warehouse duties such as receiving, shipping, and required paperwork.
  • Fulfill tasks like filling cylinders in the pump room and assisting with inventory management.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED) preferred.
  • Class B CDL with HazMat endorsement preferred.
  • Experience handling compressed gases and industry-related knowledge is beneficial.
  • Customer service or sales experience is advantageous.
  • Able to meet physical qualification standards imposed by regulation for truck drivers.
  • Excellent communication skills, work independently, self-motivated, and detail-oriented.
  • Strong customer service skills are essential.
  • Effective time-management skills are necessary.
  • A reliable driving record is expected.
  • Able to lift 25-75 lbs. regularly and up to 100+ lbs. occasionally.
  • Work outdoors in varying temperatures comfortably.
  • Able to perform functions during occasional climbing, balancing, kneeling, crawling, pushing, pulling, and finger activities with frequent bending.
