Elementary Educator for Grades TK-6

Position Overview

ROLE SUMMARY

Under the direct supervision of the school principal, the educator will deliver a comprehensive educational program for students in grades TK-6, or a combination thereof, while also contributing to various school initiatives as assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

Credential:
Valid California credential in General Elementary, Standard Elementary, Multiple Subjects, or equivalent.

Educational Background:
A Bachelor's degree, encompassing all necessary coursework to fulfill credential requirements.

Experience:
Successful completion of student teaching is mandatory for credential acquisition.

Personal Attributes:
Professional grooming and demeanor that set a positive example for students. Good physical and mental health is essential. Strong recommendations from student teaching supervisors or other professionals who have evaluated the educator's personal traits, academic achievements, and classroom effectiveness are preferred.

  • Teachers must possess appropriate authorization from the State of California to instruct English Learner Students. Probationary educators are expected to meet these standards within the designated timeframe.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THIS ROLE

  • Deliver instruction in reading, language arts, social studies, mathematics, science, art, health, physical education, and music to students, employing a curriculum approved by the Governing Board, along with other relevant educational activities.

  • Guide students in citizenship, fundamental communication skills, and other essential components of the curriculum as mandated by state law and the district's administrative guidelines.

  • Design engaging learning experiences to inspire students and optimize instructional time.

  • Create lesson plans and educational materials for the classroom, including tailored instruction for individuals and small groups.
