We are seeking a highly skilled Forklift Operator to join our Supply Chain team. As a key member of our logistics team, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining forklifts to supply production operations with raw materials, transferring finished products to storage or staging areas, and ensuring timely loading of finished products onto trucks to meet customer delivery requirements.
Key Responsibilities- Operate and maintain forklifts in a safe and efficient manner, adhering to work instructions, visual management, and computer interface guidelines.
- Supply production operations with raw materials to produce finished products, ensuring timely delivery and quality control.
- Print and scan Bill of Lading for all finished goods using computer interface and RF scanner.
- Inspect finished goods for quality defects and ensure accurate inventory counts.
- Transfer finished goods to staging or storage areas, and load finished goods onto trucks in a timely manner to meet customer delivery requirements.
- Accurately complete all written logs and data input, including closing sequences of tickets and printing Bill of Lading.
- Ensure accurate inventory counts and notify lead/supervisor of discrepancies.
- Effectively communicate with all internal departments and maintain a clean work area.
- Follow all HACCP, GMP, and Product Safety rules and guidelines.
- Train current and new members of the department to perform job-related tasks as needed.
- High School diploma or equivalent, or one to three months related experience and/or training.
- Ability to read and interpret documents, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence, and speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
The job is performed near moving mechanical parts and occasionally in outdoor weather. Safety glasses are required to be worn, and the noise level is loud, requiring hearing protection to be worn. GMP procedures are observed in all areas of the plant.
