Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Small Equipment Operator to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for operating a variety of equipment, including paper balers, front-end loaders, bobcats, and forklifts, to transport or bind paper or loose materials.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate equipment in a safe and efficient manner, complying with all local, state, and federal regulations and company policies.
  • Perform safe driving practices while transporting, loading, and unloading loose or baled materials.
  • Safely stack baled material to prevent damage and ensure personnel safety.
  • Organize and secure stored materials in accordance with company policy.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections on equipment and complete necessary forms.
  • Perform routine maintenance on equipment, including lubricating, fueling, and cleaning.
  • Monitor for signs of unacceptable material and take corrective action.
  • Weigh, tag, log, and prepare baled materials for transport.
  • Provide professional interaction with internal and external customers.

Requirements:

  • Must pass a written and operational test to be licensed to operate forklift and bobcat.
  • Ability to perform physical requirements of the job, including prolonged physical exertions, sitting, standing, reaching, bending, lifting, pushing, pulling, and climbing.
  • Ability to maneuver equipment through tight areas and high traffic conditions.
  • Ability to work in plant conditions with exposure to weather elements.
  • Good verbal communication skills to interact effectively with customers.
  • Must be able to read and speak the English language well enough to communicate, understand, and respond to questions, directions, traffic signs, signals, and safety training.

Working Conditions:

  • Possible exposure to high traffic conditions and/or tight driving areas.
  • Exposure to residential and commercial waste.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including overtime, weekends, and/or holidays.
  • Legally eligible to work in the United States.
  • Valid driver's license (if applicable).
  • Must successfully complete pre-employment testing.
  • Must be able to read and speak the English language.
