POSITION OVERVIEW

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) plays a crucial role in supporting the clinical and administrative functions of the Health Center. Under the guidance of the healthcare provider and Clinical Operations Manager, the LPN assists in delivering care and performing necessary tests and procedures. The LPN is also responsible for various administrative duties and may collaborate with the Patient Advocate to enhance employee engagement and outreach efforts.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Exhibit a professional demeanor and maintain excellent customer relations with patients, visitors, healthcare providers, and colleagues, in alignment with our service standards and core values.
  • Prepare patients for consultations by conducting triage, assessments, treatment procedures, and providing follow-up information.
  • Administer tests including selected laboratory tests, EKGs, spirometry, inhalation treatments, annual physicals, visual screenings, audiometry testing, and CLIA-waived testing.
  • Prepare and administer medications and injections as prescribed by the healthcare provider.
  • Assist healthcare providers with various procedures and treatments as required.
  • Communicate with patients via telephone to address concerns or relay instructions from the provider.
  • Ensure cleanliness and sanitation of examination rooms between patient visits.
  • Monitor expiration dates on medications, vaccines, and other supplies; properly dispose of expired items according to company protocols.
  • Demonstrate a collaborative spirit by working effectively with other healthcare providers as necessary.
  • Oversee inventory management and supply procurement for the Health Center.
  • Collaborate with the Patient Advocate to support patient engagement and outreach initiatives.
  • Participate in meetings and training sessions as requested by the Clinical Operations Manager.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

Mandatory:
  • Active LPN license in good standing.
  • Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association, valid for a minimum of 90 days post-hire.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in internet software, spreadsheet applications, word processing, and electronic medical records.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and build relationships with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  • Capability to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently.
  • Understanding of HIPAA confidentiality regulations.
Preferred:
  • At least one year of experience as an LPN.
WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS

This position primarily operates in a medical office setting, requiring regular interaction with patients throughout the workday. The physical demands necessary to fulfill the essential functions of this role include:
  • Effective communication skills, mobility, and the ability to operate office equipment while traveling intermittently.
  • Capacity to remain stationary at the workstation for extended periods.
  • Occasional lifting of office supplies and equipment weighing up to 20-30 pounds.
POSITION TYPE & WORK SCHEDULE

This role is classified as a full-time, non-exempt position. Evening and weekend shifts may be necessary based on the operational needs of the health and wellness center.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

Minimal domestic travel may be required, expected to be less than 20% of the overall responsibilities of the position.
