Role Overview
The Senior Pipeline Engineer will oversee project management, engineering design, bidding, and construction oversight on various Pipeline initiatives that are integral to the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and prepare technical, bidding, and contractual documentation necessary for the execution of capital investment projects.
- Define project budgets and scopes effectively.
- Manage multiple projects concurrently while executing diverse engineering tasks related to planning, design, or construction.
- Ensure that the scope and quality of work align with all Design Concepts and Company standards for capacity, performance, reliability, safety, and regulatory compliance.
- Transform technical information and concepts into practical and efficient engineering solutions.
- Provide expert technical guidance on engineering and operational challenges.
- Supervise field and contract personnel to guarantee timely project completion within budget and compliance with standards.
- Assist in the pre-qualification and selection of consulting and construction firms for projects through negotiation or competitive selection processes.
Knowledge and Skills
- Profound understanding of engineering design principles, project management, construction, and contract management, particularly in water resources and utility operations.
- Awareness of current trends in water quality, treatment, and other facets of the regulated and non-regulated water sector.
- General knowledge of US regulations (commercial and environmental), legislation, and trends affecting the water industry.
- Proficient in process, project, and program management.
- Strong business acumen and decision-making abilities.
- Competence in report writing and delivering presentations.
- Effective team management skills, including planning, organizing, controlling, and leading teams.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including persuasion, negotiation, listening, cooperation, tact, diplomacy, problem-solving, and internal consulting.
Experience and Education
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in water resources design, construction, and/or project management.
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering.
- A Master's Degree in Engineering is preferred.
Certifications and Licenses
- Engineer in Training (EIT) is strongly preferred.
Work Environment
- Primarily office-based with occasional local or overnight fieldwork.
- Up to 2 days of remote work permitted per week.
Travel Requirements
- Up to 20% travel may be required.
