Position Overview

The Healthcare Access Coordinator role is pivotal in ensuring a welcoming and efficient experience for patients. This position involves assisting patients in a friendly and professional manner, as well as managing incoming calls with the same level of courtesy. The Healthcare Access Coordinator will be trained across various reception duties to ensure comprehensive support. Specific responsibilities may differ based on the office's location and departmental organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Welcomes patients and visitors with promptness and professionalism.
  • Manages the patient check-in and check-out procedures effectively.
  • Responds to calls regarding appointment scheduling, patient inquiries, and general information relevant to the role.
  • Reviews patient records for accuracy prior to appointments, ensuring all necessary information is available for the healthcare provider.
  • Conducts scanning and organization within the Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system.
  • Confirms and updates patient insurance details.
  • Processes patient payments efficiently.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to interact positively and professionally with patients, colleagues, and management.
  • Demonstrates maturity, integrity, loyalty, creativity, and maintains strict confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Minimum of one year of experience in a medical office or health insurance setting.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Familiarity with EMR systems is preferred.
  • Willingness to travel to other locations as required.
Reasoning Skills

Ability to address practical problems and manage various concrete variables in situations with limited standardization. Capable of interpreting diverse instructions provided in written, oral, diagrammatic, or schedule formats.

Technical Proficiency

Successful candidates should possess a solid understanding of computer information systems.
