Job Summary

The Los Rios Community College District is seeking a qualified candidate for a part-time, temporary (Adjunct) faculty position in Diagnostic Medical Sonography. This position is filled as needed through ongoing recruitment, and applicants are contacted and hired year-round based on college needs.

Responsibilities
  • Teach assigned classes under the supervision of the area dean
  • Help students fulfill their maximum potential in mastering course content
  • Assess student learning outcomes
  • Maintain a thorough and up-to-date knowledge in the regular teaching field
  • Continuing professional development
  • Utilize current technology in the performance of job duties
  • Maintain standards of professional conduct and ethics appropriate to the professional position
  • Assist with articulation and curriculum development and review
  • Serve on college committees and participate in faculty governance, including accreditation and student co-curricular activities
  • Assume other responsibilities as assigned by the area dean
  • Fulfill other duties and responsibilities of an adjunct faculty member
Qualifications

To be considered for this position, applicants must have any bachelor's degree or higher and two years of professional experience, or any associate degree and six years of professional experience, or the equivalent. The professional experience required must be directly related to the faculty member's teaching assignment. All degrees must be from an accredited institution completed by time of hire. Additionally, applicants must maintain credential as a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) and have an equity-minded focus, responsiveness, and sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.
