CRH is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Engineering Intern to join our team for the Summer 2025 program. As an Engineering Intern, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in various aspects of the company, including construction, materials, and operations.
Key Responsibilities- Site Operations: Spend time at our construction sites, aggregates, asphalt, and ready mix plants to learn the fundamentals of production, including equipment operation and maintenance.
- Estimation and Planning: Understand how to estimate and plan plant production requirements, ensuring efficient use of resources and meeting customer demands.
- Scheduling and Compliance: Learn the asphalt and ready mix plant scheduling process to maximize capacity and meet regulatory requirements, including MSHA and OSHA compliance.
- Quality Control and Assurance: Participate in quality control and assurance activities, ensuring our products meet material specification requirements.
- Equipment Maintenance: Assist with equipment preventative maintenance, scheduling, and shop operation to ensure optimal performance.
- Project Management: Gain an in-depth understanding of the bidding and execution of construction projects, including crew and scheduling efficiency.
- Customer Service: Manage customer issues and provide excellent customer service to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Financial Management: Learn the fundamentals of material pricing, accounts receivable, and billing to ensure accurate financial management.
- Education: Currently enrolled in a college degree program with a minimum GPA of 3.0 or better.
- Experience: Minimum of a high school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
- Age: Must be 18 years in age or older.
- Physical Demands: Able to use hands and fingers to manipulate objects, talk and hear. Vision abilities include close, distance, peripheral, depth, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Work Environment: While performing the duties of the job, the employee may be occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals.
