Key Responsibilities:
As a Manufacturing Engineer at Chart Industries, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the success of our Engineer to Order (ETO) products built in our Teddy 2 facility in Theodore, AL.
Key Activities:
- Plan, organize, and implement systems and procedures to enhance manufacturing production.
- Conduct cause and effect studies and implement corrective measures to improve plant efficiencies and site goals.
- Assess production processes to improve product consistency, standardize work procedures, and optimize workflow.
- Implement Lean concepts throughout the plant, including 5S, Visual Work, Kanban, and other initiatives.
- Create and manage technical training programs for production employees to enhance their skills and knowledge.
- Ensure effective communication of new product introductions and changes to existing products to all stakeholders.
- Interface with various departments to coordinate technical information related to specific projects.
- Project manage capital equipment projects, identifying equipment improvements, ensuring on-time delivery, and staying within budget.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, preferably in Manufacturing, Industrial, or Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing, mechanical, or industrial engineering role, with a focus on welding and fabrication processes.
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, AutoCad, ProE, and experience with Inventor or Solidworks is a plus.
- Understanding of factory metrics and Lean principles, with Six Sigma experience a significant advantage.
Work Environment:
This role requires the ability to move around the production floor to investigate issues with production equipment or manufactured and purchased parts. The candidate must be able to lift up to 25 pounds and perform tasks in an office setting.
