Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Pool Lifeguard to join our team at the City of Boca Raton. As a Pool Lifeguard, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe use of our public swimming facilities and providing emergency lifesaving services to swimmers in need.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain discipline at a swimming pool facility
  • Observe actions of swimmers and enforce water safety rules and pool rules
  • Provide emergency lifesaving services to swimmers in need
  • Maintain proper chemical balance of pool water
  • Adjust and maintain pool filtration systems and pool chemical feeding systems
  • Give swimming instructions to individuals or groups
Requirements
  • Possession of a High School diploma or valid equivalent
  • Demonstrated excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills
  • Current certifications in American Red Cross, Lifeguarding/First Aid/CPR/AED for the professional rescuer
  • Possession of a valid State of Florida Class "E" driver's license with no more than six (6) points in a three (3) year period
Working Conditions

The Pool Lifeguard will work in a fast-paced environment with varying hours, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed. The position requires the ability to work safely with toxic chemicals and to maintain a high level of physical fitness.
