This includes a comprehensive understanding of developmental principles throughout the lifespan, the ability to evaluate data reflective of the patient's condition, and the capacity to interpret relevant information to ascertain each patient's needs based on their age, ensuring the delivery of appropriate care as outlined in departmental guidelines.
Qualifications:
Upholds established departmental policies, procedures, objectives, quality assurance, and safety standards. Undertakes additional responsibilities as assigned or requested. Prepares equipment and medications, administering respiratory therapies as prescribed by the physician; documents treatment, responses, and progress. Monitors environmental control systems and patients requiring continuous ventilation.
Exhibits proficiency in providing age-appropriate care for assigned patients, including assessment, evaluation, planning, and execution of treatments or procedures.
Conducts non-tracheal and tracheal suctioning, performs specific diagnostic evaluations such as arterial blood gases (ABGs) and spirometry. Observes patients, inspects equipment, and implements necessary adjustments during patient assessments. Prepares bronchoscopy apparatus and assists physicians during procedures.Fosters professional development through engagement in educational programs, current literature, in-service training, and workshops. Participates in or reviews meetings as required.
Engages with patients regarding specific illnesses or conditions, providing educational materials and discussing pertinent areas of concern.
