Position Overview

The Real Estate Loan Specialist plays a crucial role in serving our existing members and attracting new clients through the origination of high-quality real estate loan products. This position acts as the primary liaison between borrowers and Amplify's real estate lending division.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Build relationships with potential borrowers through leads generated at branches and develop a personal book of business through self-sourced opportunities.
  • Prequalify applicants by understanding internal and secondary market loan requirements in relation to their circumstances and documentation; recommend suitable loan products.
  • Conduct preliminary underwriting of real estate applications and documentation to set clear expectations for the loan process.
  • Effectively communicate requirements and expectations to applicants and support teams.
  • Facilitate collaboration between borrowers and all areas of Real Estate Lending to ensure efficient application processing.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with closing dates and company deadlines.
  • Manage and execute rate locks with members while updating records as necessary.
  • Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of available mortgage products to accurately address inquiries from members and external stakeholders.
Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in Real Estate Loan Origination with a demonstrated annual production history exceeding $14 million.
  • Experience in loan pricing based on credit union rate determinations and familiarity with points or discounts.
  • Proficient in Desktop Underwriter and/or Loan Prospector underwriting systems.
  • Knowledgeable in conforming loan standards.
  • Reliable transportation for sales calls and closings (mileage reimbursement available).
  • Familiarity with state and federal regulations including NCUA, HMDA, Regulation Z, Regulation B, FHLMC, FNMA, and FHA processes.
  • Understanding of mortgage loan sales in the secondary market.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or a related field.
  • Experience with FHA and VA origination is advantageous.
  • Prior experience using Encompass is a plus.
Certificates and Licenses:

Must be bondable and requires annual registration as a Mortgage Loan Originator with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) and Registry, with updates as necessary upon hire.

Compensation:
This position offers a base pay of $19.21 per hour along with a monthly incentive, in addition to the benefits available to all Amplify employees.
