About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Sensor and Signal Processing Engineer to join our team at the Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory (APL). As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in developing advanced sensor systems and algorithms for land, air, and sea-launched interceptors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Derive requirements and perform trade studies for sophisticated sensor systems
  • Analyze the performance of sensor systems and develop high-fidelity, physics-based simulations
  • Research and develop simulations and algorithms related to signal propagation, detection, and sensor systems
  • Act as APL's representative with sponsors and contractors, leading teams to solve complex problems in air and missile defense
Qualifications
  • Master's degree in electrical engineering, applied math, physics, computer science, or a related field
  • 2+ years of experience in signal processing algorithm development
  • Proficiency in one or more programming languages: MATLAB, C++, or Python
  • Experience in simulating or analyzing electromagnetic signals, environments, or sensors
  • Ability to obtain an Interim Secret level security clearance and meet the requirements for access to classified information
